A fresh survey suggests economic recovery will be slow in coming; it is daunting when you reckon about the difficulties we face: Unemployment, sky-rocketing gas prices, high aliment costs, creeping cost of living, the financial melt-down and sky rocketing health attention – all have major implications on our lives. To add “fuel to the fire”, the Consumer Value Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) did not increase, therefore, under existing code, there can be no cost of living (COLA) in 2011 for recipients of social security, no COLA to Federal pension annuities for 2010 or 2011; federal, state and community governments are experiencing deep budget cuts, social programs that benefit the poor and disabled gone… and the list goes on and on.
